How The Marianas Foundation collects, uses, and protects information on this website.
Determining which privacy rules apply to this visit from your connection…
Who we are
The Marianas Foundation is a CNMI nonprofit corporation organized as a 501(c)(3) public charity. For this website, the Foundation is the organization responsible for personal information. This policy covers https://marianasfoundation.org and pages we operate on this domain. The relief portal at relief.marianasfoundation.org is separate.
Location-based rules
We determine your country and, where relevant, your U.S. state from IP-derived location so we can follow GDPR, UK GDPR, LGPD, PIPL, the Philippine Data Privacy Act, CCPA/CPRA, and other U.S. state privacy statutes. That lookup is used only to choose the correct notice, consent, and opt-out tools. We do not store the IP address from the lookup, and we do not use location to advertise.
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to send through contact and whistleblower forms, including name, email address, subject, and message content. Those forms open your own email client; we receive only what you send. You may submit a concern anonymously. We do not require an account. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not collect payment card numbers on this website.
Cookies and similar storage
Essential storage remembers language and your privacy choice. Optional analytics are off until you accept them, and they stay off if your browser sends Global Privacy Control. Details are in the Cookie Policy. Manage them anytime with .
How we use information
We use inquiry and donor-related information to respond, keep required records, and administer programs. We use essential storage to operate the site. We use optional analytics, only after opt-in, to improve content. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us operate (for example email delivery if you write to us), when required by law, or with your direction. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Donor handling is described in the Donor Privacy Policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you are connecting from, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, to opt out of sale/share/targeted advertising, to limit use of sensitive information, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. EU and UK visitors may contact their local data protection authority. California visitors may use Do not sell or share. We will not deny service or provide a lesser experience because you exercised a privacy right.
To make a request, email contact@marianasfoundation.org with “Privacy request” in the subject. We may need enough information to locate your records. Some records must be kept under nonprofit, tax, or CNMI law.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this site. Education and youth programs are described here for the public; program applications, when opened, will carry their own notices.
Retention and security
We keep inquiry records as long as needed to respond and to meet legal duties, then delete or archive them. We use HTTPS and limit staff access to messages we receive. No method of transmission is perfectly secure.
International access
The Foundation is based in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, United States. If you write to us from another country, your message is received in the CNMI. Website storage used for language and privacy choice stays in your browser.
